| The Oregon Community Theatre was a
winner of the 2005 Eastern Maumee Bay Prisim Award!
OCT produces three shows a year - a major musical, a
two-act comedy, and a small musical. In addition, the group, in
conjunction wit the City of Oregon, stages a children's theatre in teh
summer, which attracts 80 to 100 budding stars.
Volunteers also help with production, lighting,
sound engineering and set building for the 10 to 14 events staged
by school groups throughout the year at Fassett Middle School. In
fact, the group has adopted the Fassett stage and has used its ticket
revenue and donations to install a computerized lighting system, a 24
channel state-of-the-art soundboard, a communication system for stage
management and new stage curtains.
Memorable events staged by the group include Damn
Yankees, Oliver and the group's most successful presentation, Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. |
