2014 Prism Award Update!!
Prism Awards Postponed
The Prism Planning Committee met this morning and agreed to postpone tonight’s Prism Awards dinner due to the winter storm and Level 3 Snow Emergency. The committee’s primary concern is the safety of our guests and all those participating in the event. The Prism Awards have been rescheduled for Thursday, March 27.
A prism is a device, often made of glass and often triangular in shape, that splits light into its various component colors. Regular white light goes in, and out the other end emerges an array of colors, this process is referred to as refraction.
We look at our community as a whole and too often just see it as a blur of the same-old, same-old. The Prism Awards banquet is designed to help snap us out of our ennui. This unique event can help us see that our community, when viewed through a Prism, is refracted into businesses and organizations – big and small, old and new – that are part of what illuminates and light our path. Without all these little colored beams of light, we’d just go dark.
The goal of the Prism Awards is to enliven our sense of wonder and appreciation of the hard work, perseverance, and dedication going on around us every single day. And what better place to look through a Prism than the Glass City?
